Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m Cato — founder of Pogona Co.
Growing up on a small island in Queensland without a visible queer community showed me just how important representation is — and how isolating it can feel when it’s missing.
My style has always leaned androgynous-masculine, but shopping never felt straightforward. The women’s section didn’t reflect who I was, and the men’s section didn’t fit my body. I was stuck in between, constantly adjusting, compromising, or settling.
After many late-night searches, I finally found brands that truly spoke to my style and identity. That was a game changer. It inspired me to create Pogona Co — a place where people who share my experience don’t have to dig so hard to find clothing that feels authentic to them.
More than that, Pogona Co is my way of giving back to our amazing queer community. It’s the kind of space I wish I had growing up — where younger queer folks, and anyone straying from the norm, can feel seen, celebrated, and free to express themselves through fashion.
We’re still a small team, but we’re proud to be building something that feels like home. Thanks for being here with us.
